Contract Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team on a contract basis. This position will support day-to-day corporate accounting functions, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while partnering with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to join a growing organization. While there is potential for the position to transition to a permanent role based on performance, business needs, and overall fit, permanent placement is not guaranteed. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliations Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation Reconcile bank, balance sheet, and other general ledger accounts Assist with financial reporting and analysis Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial information Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred 3+ years of corporate accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles Experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations Strong Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis Experience with month-end close and financial reporting Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and problem-solving skills Experience with an ERP/accounting system required Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable accountant who can step into an existing accounting environment and quickly become productive.
