Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures within the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP. Ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the perioperative process.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients before, during, and after cardiac procedures.
• Deliver competent clinical care supporting the cardiovascular team, including monitoring patient vital signs and responses.
• Document patient information accurately, including procedural details and patient education, in accordance with policies.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, identifying opportunities for professional growth, and maintaining a strong work ethic.
• Respond promptly and courteously to patient and family needs, ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Follow safety protocols, including universal precautions and patient identification procedures, to minimize risks.
• Support unit-specific functions related to cardiac catheterization procedures and electrophysiology studies.
• Take responsibility for prioritizing and coordinating patient care based on individual needs and condition changes.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, post-care instructions, and lifestyle modifications for cardiac health.
• Assist with testing, review pre-admission testing orders, and evaluate patient readiness for procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience, preferably in a cardiac or ICU setting.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associates or Bachelor's Degree required, Bachelor's preferred.
