Accounting Intern

Job Summary Nelnet Business Solutions (NBS) seeks an Accounting Intern to handle a wide range of financial, accounting, and system-related tasks. Responsibilities Provide financial analysis assistance, including month end close and ad hoc requests. Assist with clerical accounting duties, including lockbox, cash deposits, and reviewing credit card chargebacks. Assist with implementing a new company‑wide financial tool. Complete special projects as assigned by management. Assist with accounts receivable and customer billing. Provide backup as directed by supervisor and other duties as may be assigned. Education and Experience Working toward a degree in Accounting. Relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting departments. Competencies and Skills Attention to detail. PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Good oral and written communication. Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn new processes. Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures. Energetic and enthusiastic attitude. Good work ethic and habits. Compensation $16 – $18 hourly.
