Territory Assistant Manager

Position Summary Assistant Territory Managers serve our customers by selling products and managing our employees to establish standards to increase company sales and profits. Essential Functions Manages, trains and develops employees to ensure that they are performing job duties in accordance with established standards; manages and coordinates seasonal sampling team. Works to resolve customer service and delivery issues that occur on the weekend; works with Express or Geo Driver positions to solve any Saturday delivery issues; communicates all performance and customer service issues to the Account Execution Manager, Senior Market Sales Manager, Market Sales Manager, or Area Manager. Develops, builds and maintains relationships with Territory Account Manager and Large Format Account Manager positions; provides customer service and ordering coverage for these positions to provide coverage for absences from work (e.g. vacation, personal days) according to the guidelines established. Conducts store evaluations to ensure that store conditions are met and maintained according to established company standards (e.g. pricing, standard sets, presentation, proper product rotation and freshness). Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local Laws). Communicates with customers and employees to introduce product lines as assigned by Market Director, G&J ADCO according to AOP initiatives. Stocks, rotates and displays all products to established standards (e.g. coolers, vendors). Maintains confidentiality of financial information, customer information, promotions, pricing, CDA contracts, employee information (e.g. discipline, wage information) and other sensitive and confidential information. Completes, reviews, approves and maintains time‑off requests and timecards, mileage reports and other paperwork according to established company policy. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School degree, GED or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field strongly preferred. 1-3 years of sales experience with a consumer product line. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; previous VIP experience strongly preferred. Valid Driver's License; employee must be insurable to operate a vehicle, as a condition of initial and continued employment. Ability to obtain and meet industry licensing requirements as needed. Knowledge of retail sales and distribution environment; beverage industry; product line; standard selling practices; Microsoft Office Suite, VIP. Skill in selling products; external and internal customer service. Ability to work quickly, independently and efficiently; multi‑task; communicate effectively with customers and other employees both verbally and in writing; adapt to change; relate to and influence customers; develop and maintain good working relationships; write and enter accurate orders; operate a computer; problem solve.
