Kitchen Expeditor

JF Restaurants is seeking a skilled and motivated  Kitchen Expeditor to join our esteemed culinary team at  The Times Square Edition .

The Kitchen Expeditor’s primary function is to control the flow of food orders from origin to delivery. This is an essential task in syncing the FOH and BOH teams in the accurate and timely delivery of anything coming from the 8th floor kitchen. Key Responsibilities

• Order flow
  • Call out orders to chefs and cooks while checking on the status of dishes, and call for kitchen attendant when food is ready to go
  • Organize ticket orders and help the kitchen prioritize outgoing orders ensuring no orders are lost, forgotten, or delayed
  • Clearly identify and call out any allergies and ensure identification and safe delivery of modified dishes to guest
  • Clearly communicate any guest requests or complaints to the kitchen staff
• Quality control
  • Serves as the final line of defense before any food leaves the kitchen and notifies the chef on duty of any concerns prior to the departure of the order.
  • Oversee the setup and execution of all final garnishes and condiments.

• Cleanliness and organization
  •  Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen pass, all windows, service surfaces, and plate storage areas, keeping these areas neat, well organized, and stocked throughout the service
  • Assist all teams as needed including, but not limited to, cleaning, prepping garnish, firing toast, staging mis en place, cutting paper, and assisting with management tasks
  • Ensure adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Uphold Department of Health (DOH) standards at all times

Qualifications

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple tasks and staff members
• 2+ years of experience in foodservice, either BOH or FOH
• NYC Food Handlers Certificate and in-depth knowledge of all relevant health and safety guidelines and regulations
• Hands-on experience with a variety of kitchen equipment tools
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Detail oriented and good time-management skills
• Open to feedback with a willingness to learn and develop others
