Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs of older adults, considering their cognitive and physical health challenges. \n
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate therapeutic interventions, social factors, and community resources. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and family therapy, to effectively address geriatric psychiatric issues. \n
- Collaborate closely with our geriatric psychiatry team to ensure seamless care coordination and comprehensive support for patients. \n
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency support for elderly clients experiencing acute mental health crises. \n
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatment options, fostering a better understanding of their health needs. \n
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical documentation in alignment with best practices and legal standards. \n
- Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development activities. \n
- Continuously seek knowledge of current research and therapeutic practices related to geriatric mental health. \n
Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing a wide array of mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. Understanding the complexities of aging and its impact on mental health will be vital in your therapeutic approach. You will be trusted to foster meaningful therapeutic relationships with elderly patients, guiding them through their unique challenges while enhancing their quality of life.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program. \n
- Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Illinois. \n
- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience demonstrating a commitment to geriatric mental health. \n
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms. \n
- Excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively communicate and build rapport with elderly clients and their families. \n
- A patient-centered approach that reflects empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions. \n

- Extensive knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and the latest evidence-based practices related to their treatment. \n
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapy to older adults, particularly in managing complex emotional and behavioral disorders. \n
