The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining equipment functionality to support accurate diagnostics. Responsibilities:
- Conduct radiologic procedures by positioning patients and adjusting equipment controls effectively.
- Ensure patient safety by practicing radiation protection techniques, including shielding and beam restriction.
- Prepare and process radiographs, documenting procedures accurately in patient records.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and anticipating needs.
- Uphold a safe, clean working environment by complying with established safety protocols and infection control policies.
- Hold a New York State License (L.R.T.) and ARRT Certification.
- Graduate from an JCERT-accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Maintain current knowledge through CME requirements, workshops, and professional memberships.
- Possess strong planning, dependability, and people skills necessary for patient care and team collaboration.
