ABOUT THE JOBThis is a full-time position at Rubys Southern Comfort Kitchen in Bowie, MD. Were a busy, well-known restaurant and we take our environment seriously inside and outside the building.This is an essential role and if hired, youll be the glue that keeps us all together. It's one of the most important roles in the building. Our guests notice everything. A clean bathroom. A tidy dining room. A welcoming entrance before they even walk through the door. We don't take that lightly.You'll touch every part of this restaurant kitchen, restrooms, dining room, and the outside of the building. Every shift. If you take pride in your work and don't need someone standing over you to get it done, you'll fit right in here.Its physical, its consistent, and it matters. If youre someone who takes ownership of a space and doesnt need to be told twice this is a solid opportunity.KITCHENWash, sanitize, and restock all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment throughout each shiftKeep the dish area and surrounding kitchen clean floors, pit area, sanitizer levels, machine tempsRestock the line with clean small wares so cooks can keep moving without interruptionAssist with basic prep when the kitchen needs an extra set of handsSweep and mop kitchen floors before, during, and after serviceRemove kitchen trash and keep the back-of-house clearRESTROOMSClean and sanitize restrooms on a regular schedule throughout the day toilets, sinks, mirrors, floorsRestock paper products, soap, and supplies before they run outDo a final deep clean at the end of each shiftFlag any maintenance issues broken fixtures, leaks, anything that needs attentionDINING ROOMAssist with dining room cleanliness as needed during service floors, spills, high-traffic areasWipe down surfaces, chairs, and any common areas when the team needs supportKeep the dining room looking sharp, especially during peak hoursBUILDING & OUTDOOR PERIMETERSweep, blow, and maintain the entrance, walkways, and parking areaKeep the dumpster area clean and organizedRemove trash and debris from the exterior of the buildingHandle light general maintenance tasks around the property as directedReport any facility damage, safety issues, or repair needs to managementWHAT WE NEED FROM YOUDependable you show up every shift, on time, ready to goAble to stay on your feet for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbsComfortable working outdoors in different weatherYou can manage your responsibilities without someone checking on you constantlyWeekend availability is a must thats our busiest timeExperience in janitorial, custodial, or restaurant kitchen work is a plus well train the right personWHAT YOU GET$16$18/hr depending on experienceMeal during your shiftConsistent full-time hoursA team that respects the work you put inRoom to grow people who show up and perform here get noticed
