Criminal Defense Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Criminal Defense Attorney in Orange County, FL. The firm is dedicated to defending individuals facing criminal charges, with a focus on DUI/DWI defense and sex-crime allegations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about criminal defense, courtroom advocacy, and client service. Duties Represent clients charged with criminal offenses from arraignment through trial. Develop and execute individualized defense strategies for each case. Handle DUI/DWI matters, including investigations and testing issues. Manage sex-crime cases, including serious felony and misdemeanor charges. Conduct client and witness interviews, legal research, and factual investigations. Review and analyze discovery materials such as police reports and forensic evidence. Draft and argue pretrial motions, including motions to suppress. Negotiate with prosecutors and prepare for litigation when necessary. Prepare cases for hearings, evidentiary proceedings, and jury trials. Appear regularly in state and/or federal courts. Maintain communication with clients and their families. Collaborate with the defense team, including investigators and experts. Maintain detailed case files and court calendars. Stay current on developments in criminal law and forensic evidence. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar. Commitment to practicing criminal defense exclusively or primarily. Strong interest or experience in DUI and/or sex-crime defense. Excellent written, oral, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills. Ability to independently manage a significant caseload. Strong attention to detail and case-management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential cases with professionalism. Strong negotiation skills and willingness to take cases to trial.Client-centered approach and commitment to protecting constitutional rights. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.
