Lead, People Technology - P&O Technical Lead

Along with our sister companies, we create movies, television, music, and games that engage billions of people, connecting creators and audiences around the globe.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and strategic People Technology Lead – P&O Technical Lead - to provide end-to-end solution and technical leadership across Sony Pictures Entertainment’s People & Organization (P&O) technology ecosystem. This role will shape how business needs are translated into scalable, secure, integrated, and sustainable technology solutions across Workday and the broader portfolio of P&O platforms.The Lead will partner closely with P&O product and functional leaders, Payroll, Talent, Finance, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, Data & Analytics, and external service providers. The role will lead solution discovery, architecture and technical design, guide delivery teams through implementation, and ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, platform strategy, data and integration principles, and operational requirements.The ideal candidate combines broad People Technology domain knowledge with strong solution architecture and technical leadership capabilities. Deep Workday knowledge is important, but success in this role requires the ability to lead solutions across the full P&O technology landscape and connect platforms, data, processes, and experiences into cohesive end-to-end solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead solution discovery, architecture reviews, design sessions, and technical decision-making for P&O initiatives; translate business capabilities and requirements into pragmatic end-to-end technology solutions, and document key decisions, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.Define target-state solution architecture across Workday and the broader P&O technology ecosystem, including application, integration, data, security, and experience layers.Lead architecture reviews, design sessions, technical decision-making, and solution governance; document key decisions, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.Evaluate solution options, including configuration, platform capabilities, third-party products, integrations, and custom development, with a focus on scalability, maintainability, user experience, and total cost of ownership.Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Information Security to ensure P&O solutions align with broader enterprise standards and technology strategy.Define and evolve the technical roadmap for the P&O technology landscape in partnership with P&O product and functional leaders.Assess the existing technology landscape and identify opportunities to simplify architecture, reduce technical debt, consolidate capabilities, and improve interoperability across platforms.Serve as a senior technical authority for Workday architecture, integrations, security, data, and platform design while maintaining an end-to-end view across the broader P&O ecosystem.Ensure technical solutions leverage platform capabilities and established design patterns appropriately and avoid unnecessary customization.Provide technical guidance across P&O platforms such as learning, recruiting, talent, employee listening, skills, case management, time & attendance, payroll, and analytics solutions.Assess cross-platform impacts and dependencies to ensure changes are designed cohesively rather than within individual application silos.Define and govern integration patterns, APIs, reusable frameworks, and technical standards across P&O platforms.Ensure solution designs meet enterprise requirements for identity and access management, privacy, security, auditability, and regulatory compliance.Maintain appropriate architecture diagrams, integration inventories, data flows, interface specifications, and technical design documentation.Experience & Qualifications10+ years of enterprise technology experience, with significant experience designing and delivering solutions across HR / People Technology environments.Strong solution architecture and technical leadership experience spanning enterprise SaaS platforms, integrations, data, security, and application ecosystems.Strong Workday technical knowledge, including architecture, security, integrations (Studio, EIB, Connectors, PECI/PICOF, APIs), business processes, and data model.Experience leading cross-platform solutions involving Workday and third-party P&O technologies.Ability to translate business outcomes and functional requirements into scalable technical designs and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience leading technical discovery, architecture reviews, solution option assessments, and design governance.Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, middleware, identity and access management, data architecture, security governance, audit controls, and compliance frameworks.Experience providing technical direction to internal teams, vendors, AMS partners, and system integrators.Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, HRIS, or a related field.Workday certifications in Integration, Security, HCM, or related areas.Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and HR / P&O digital transformation initiatives.Experience with a broad range of People Technologies, such as learning platforms (Cornerstone), recruiting platforms (Phenom, Greenhouse), survey / employee listening platforms (Qualtrics, Perceptyx), skills platforms, case management platforms (ServiceNow), and time & attendance platforms (UKG, Infor).Familiarity with middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Informatica.Experience integrating People Technology platforms with identity management, payroll, benefits, finance, analytics, and enterprise data platforms.Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps, and ITSM practices.Experience working in global or multi-region P&O environments.The anticipated base salary for this position is $142,400 - $178,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits.
