Position Overview

A well-established company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee its accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, improving accounting processes, and providing financial insights to support business performance and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple accounting functions while collaborating with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process and assist with financial forecasting and variance analysis.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and other regulatory or compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, strengthen controls, and improve reporting efficiency.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and recommendations that support business objectives.
• Supervise and develop accounting personnel while promoting accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or accounting leadership role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close procedures.
• Experience overseeing multiple accounting functions and maintaining effective internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
• CPA designation or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
