Bev - Bartender

The Bartender is responsible for providing beverage service to Club Members and guests. The Bartender will provide Club Members and guests with the finest service while creating a warm and friendly environment.

Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly workstation always.

Accepts beverage orders from Members, guests and wait staff.

Facilitates food service.

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining rooms following standardized recipes. Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, and fruit juices to prepare cocktails and other beverages. Serves wine and beer in the prescribed manner.

Records drink orders for master account or individual accounts.

Orders or requisitions liquors, beers, wines and supplies from the Beverage Manager.

Keeps proper number of supplies on hand during peak and slow periods.

Maintains an attractive display of various beverages, glassware and ingredients.

Prepares fruit and other garnishes for use in beverages.

Make sure all glassware is washed and clean.

Prepares bar nuts and snacks upon request.

Cleans glasses, utensils and bar equipment.

Replaces and replenishes linens, silverware, glassware and dishes.

Cleans and polishes surfaces in restaurant areas. Mops and vacuums floors.

Cleans spilled food, drinks and broken dishes. Removes empty bottles and trash

Cleans and wipes bars, work areas and tables.

Makes certain that proper ID is shown (verifying age of 21) before serving alcohol and follows all state laws.

Ensures that all beverage sales are properly accounted for in Member accounts.

Handles Member and guest routine comments in a professional manner and according to Club policies and refers any issues or concerns to the manager.

Maintains a neat and professional appearance with nametag and uniform throughout the shift.

Creates a friendly atmosphere by smiling and using Member and guest names on a consistent basis.

Anticipates the needs of Members and guests in order to provide proactive service at all times.

Communicates with fellow employees (cocktail servers, servers, captains and managers) to increase the level of service to Members and guests.

Maintains all bar areas in a safe and sanitary manner.

Always maintain complete confidentiality.

Works as a contributing player to the Jupiter Island Club team.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or experience: High school diploma or GED and 5 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous country club experience would be advantageous. Safe Staff certification required. Northstar experience preferred.
