Clinical Director

HOPE Program ( is a specialized forensic mental health clinic that primarily serves individuals who have come into contact with the law as a result of a sexual offense. HOPE is certified with the California Sex Offender Management Board (CASOMB) and, as such, utilizes the latest research in providing services to individuals and families to reduce their risk of reoffending and promote public safety. Responsibilities We are offering full-time positions to individuals who are interested in providing leadership, coordination, and supervision to a multidisciplinary team(s), overseeing programming in your clinic, and aligning objectives based on the direction provided by the executive leadership team. In this role, you will participate in a number of activities such as: Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise the clinical team, provide coaching, assess, and evaluate employee performance, and make recommendations for employment actions. Monitor clinician caseloads and productivity, and address any issues including low client retention, and frequent cancellations/no-shows. Responsible for quality assurance in the delivery of services and adherence to HIPAA standards, including clinical care and documentation. Review clinician documentation and audit files. Ensure that cases involving legal issues or that are time sensitive are managed appropriately. Assess training needs and coordinate or provide training and professional development opportunities for all clinical team members. Review resumes, interview potential candidates, and make recommendations for the hire of new clinicians. In collaboration with the team’s professional development coordinator, responsible for onboarding, orienting, and training all new clinicians. Implements changes and new programming. Direct the daily operations of office locations and schedule clinical meetings, and services, monitor clinical employee time worked, and review/approve time sheets in accordance with set schedules/expectations. Meet with clinicians regularly and provide clinical supervisory support. In coordination with other members of the leadership team, lead practice culture initiatives. Facilitate team and individual activities that promote a healthy workplace culture. Clinical & Management Duties/Responsibilities Provide direct clinical services in alignment with Therapist's job responsibilities and duties, including counseling clients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life changes and challenges, and making changes to improve mental and emotional health; prepare and maintain thorough and accurate treatment records and documentation. Review and analyze reports based on identified metrics such as but not limited to client retention rate, referral sources, and length of time in therapy. Use data to make recommendations for improvement of client services, internal processes, therapist support, and outreach/new client attraction efforts. Develop and maintain company clinical policies and procedures, and code of ethics in compliance with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, and other related regulations. Qualifications Master’s degree or Doctoral Degree from a recognized college or university in social work, marriage and family therapy, clinical or educational psychology, or in a closely related field Valid License as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor or Psychologist from the applicable licensing authority: California Board of Behavioral Sciences or California Board of Psychology Ideal Candidate Ideal Candidate should have: Dedication to Strong Client Relationships & High-Quality Therapy Wants to Lead a Community of Therapists Who Value Professional Development Master's Degree in a Mental Health Discipline Licensed California Therapist (i.e., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PSYD, PHD, etc.) At least five (5) years of professional experience in mental health or human services. At least two (2) years of related experience leading and supervising a similar size clinical team. Skills/Knowledge Clinical expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy & evidence-based therapy. Interest in and ability to develop additional areas of clinical expertise to serve additional clinical populations. Ability to work as part of a comprehensive mental health team and to represent the Company in the community. Ability to handle and provide straightforward feedback to leadership and clinical team members in order to provide leadership in alignment with Company services mission, vision, and values. Presentation skills, including the ability to deliver high-quality instruction to team members. Highly organized. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Ability to set goals and develop achievable timelines to hit them. Ability to lead a staff of clinicians and collaborate closely with administrative/care team professionals. High level of organizational skills and administrative abilities. Flexibility in days and hours available for work, including weekends. Ability to strictly adhere to the professional code of ethics. Knowledge of and ability to comply with the Board of Behavioral Sciences and related regulations.
