Our health center staff advances our mission by upholding high standards of customer service confidentiality and compassionate care while creating a safe judgment-free environment for all the RoleUnder the supervision of the Health Center Manager the Medical Assistant & Care Navigation Specialist provides direct patient care clinical support laboratory services and community outreach activities. This hybrid role combines in-clinic Medical Assistant responsibilities with community-based education engagement and support services designed to expand access to care throughout Maui and surrounding position requires flexibility to support both health center operations and community-based programs including mobile satellite and partner-site Youll Be DoingClinical & Patient Care ResponsibilitiesRespond to patient requests and coordinate services with appropriate staff and patient records verify insurance information and enter visit data into agency nonjudgmental patient-centered care and accurate reproductive and sexual health patients on birth control methods reproductive health services and available community exam rooms and assist providers to ensure efficient patient front- and back-office duties as phlebotomy specimen collection testing packaging and laboratory-related responsibilities in compliance with agency laboratory and state excellent customer service and utilize service recovery techniques when Navigation ResponsibilitiesTravel to satellite partner and mobile health locations to support the delivery of patient providers with intake patient flow clinical documentation and care coordination at off-site supplies equipment and operational needs for satellite and partner-site scheduling and follow-up coordination between satellite locations and the Kahului Health Planned Parenthood at community health fairs college campuses and partner organization basic health screenings and distribute educational materials during outreach community members about available services financial assistance programs and pathways to and maintain relationships with community organizations educational institutions and healthcare partners to strengthen community referral with nursing staff patient navigators and community partners to advance health equity and improve healthcare QualificationsHigh school diploma or to two years of experience in a medical or healthcare phlebotomy communication and interpersonal to provide culturally responsive trauma-informed and patient-centered to travel locally to satellite clinics outreach events and partner to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary QualificationsExperience in community outreach public health health education or patient supporting underserved or diverse of sexual and reproductive healthcare language skills Range:$17.48 to $26.22 hourlyPosition Type:Full-timeBenefits Eligibility:This position is eligible for PPGNHAIK benefits.
