Domestic Operations Supervisor

Overview The Domestic Operations Supervisor is responsible for the performance management and professional development of the Operations team. The Operations Supervisor will train and develop employees, assign work, and act as a resource. Additionally, this role manages relationships with service providers and partners worldwide, acting as liaison for vendors, managing shipment bookings, ensuring timely transfers from logistics provider warehouses to final destinations. This role also assists as needed to complete departmental work, including daily shipment processing. Responsibilities Manage warehouse functions such as inbound receipts, outbound shipment, storage, stocking, and inventory control. Lead process improvement, standardization, and documentation procedures for all operations shifts. Ensure operations and service level compliance of logistics operations. Control and reconcile inventory for in-house customers. Manage daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries, track shipment progress, and set up cartage operations over the weekend. Schedule staff to maximize productivity and minimize expenses. Track and respond to customer emails regarding specific needs and basic operations. Communicate and build strong partnerships with trucking companies, internal and external customers, customs brokers, sales forces, and vendors; receiving shipping quotes and selecting best carriers based on cost, availability, and reliability. Supervise daily domestic service and operations activities related to cartage, freight movement, and dispatch pickup/delivery quotes. Identify and improve service and operations related issues, including on-time delivery, accurate data entry, and efficient warehouse operations. Research and resolve customer problems and complaints on domestic and cartage issues. Coach team on performance, job assignments, training, etc. Maintain a safe working environment through consistency of safety programs and procedures. Participate in interview and onboarding processes for potential candidates. Perform other duties as directed by business demands. Desired Skills Associate degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3-5 years freight forwarding experience. Supervisor experience preferred. Domestic experience required. Forklift certified, required. Commercial or international experience a plus. 1-3 years progressively responsible supervisory experience and labor scheduling. Experience working with AS400/Worldport a plus. Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to multitask in a high-volume and fast-paced environment. Employee may be required to work hours outside set shift hours to facilitate work or resolve critical issues; must be available for occasional on‑call duty. After‑hours and weekend on‑call periodically required.
