A Step Ahead Counseling Center is currently seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist with a focus on trauma-informed care. This role involves providing remote and compassionate mental health therapy to individuals who have experienced trauma. Ideal candidates will possess licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT and have a passion for making a significant impact in the lives of our clients.

Work Environment\nThis position allows for a fully remote work setting, offering flexibility in maintaining work-life balance while providing essential mental health services. Our team collaborates from various locations, utilizing technology to ensure seamless communication and care. The work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' trauma histories and develop tailored treatment approaches. \n
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans specifically designed for trauma recovery and resilience enhancement. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing their trauma, acquiring coping strategies, and fostering healing. \n
- Work closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. \n
- Respond to trauma-related crises, providing immediate support and intervention as necessary. \n
- Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, while guiding them towards important resources. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems. \n
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional developments to enhance trauma-informed care practices. \n
- Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy, integrating new techniques into practice as appropriate. \n
The primary focus of this role is on patients who have experienced trauma, including those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. It is vital that the chosen candidate possesses the ability to offer compassionate and effective care, understanding the specific needs and challenges faced by trauma survivors.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as either an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas. \n
- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred. \n
- Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience-building strategies. \n
- Proficiency in trauma-focused therapies and interventions is essential. \n
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental approach. \n
- A capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure. \n

- Experience in delivering therapy to diverse populations, particularly those affected by trauma. \n
- A working knowledge of electronic health record systems and experience with telehealth platforms. \n
This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
