Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, demonstrating competency in various technical processes requiring independent judgment and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

Practices and maintains MR safety in the department.
Maintains clinical competency for all exams and equipment.
Performs procedures for reviewing, processing, and archiving imaging data.
Prior to starting an exam, reviews and presents all relevant information to the physician based on protocol.
Identifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures.
Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
Documents patient history in electronic records as required.
Interacts effectively with patients and co-workers, displaying care, respect, and dignity.
Works collaboratively with team members within the department and other areas to expedite patient care efficiently.
Communicates instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner to help alleviate fears and solicit cooperation.
Ensures exams are properly coded, tracked, and documented in Rad Assessment, and charges are entered accurately.
Performs other duties as assigned and operates in accordance with system-wide competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program with MR registry.
MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the primary registry date or hire date if already obtained.
2 years of experience is required.
Licenses and Certifications: ARRT Certificate, ARMRIT, NMTC, or ARDMS, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) and applicable Acts (PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73).
