Operations Manager (THL)

The XGS Operations Manager manages all aspects of warehousing and dock operations monitoring and leading performance in the areas of customer service, safety, dispatch, and warehousing/dock operations for a service center facility responsible for city operation. The manager is responsible for performance and KPI’s related to routing and loading; dock operations; and inventory control in an LTL environment. He / She will ensure proactive supervision of all service center personnel within their areas of responsibility leading to a positive and productive work environment. Responsibilities What you’ll be doing at XGS... Direct the supervision of the terminal operations insuring safe and productive loading and unloading of freight, and alignment of service center operations with XGS performance expectations and standards. Review, monitor and control all operations for the service center. Develop and lead the implementation of effective operations strategy to react appropriately to changes in revenue or expense such as to maximize company profits. Consistently evaluate driver route assignments and dispatch drivers in a manner that optimizes assets both equipment and driver. Interface with Linehaul Operations to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Manage, direct and train supervision ensuring effective leadership of all colleagues within their sphere of influence. Maintain proper facility staffing to support operations based on freight volumes. Adjust work schedules and staffing levels as needed to optimize profits while meeting service requirements. Ensure Service Center is properly maintained. Identify and negotiate vendor agreements for Service Center. Identify and coordinate needed repairs. Analyze structure methods and performance of service center operations to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. Participate in conference calls with senior leadership providing required information related to facility performance. Ensure site adherence to all onboarding and training requirements Other duties as assigned Qualifications PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION: Degree in Logistics or related field preferred 5 years of relevant management or supervisory experience. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, manage, and coach subordinates at all levels. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrable understanding of transportation and LTL Operations required, floor covering industries experience is preferred. AS400 experience preferred. Candidates must have proven leadership experience. Must have the ability to lead in a fast‑paced environment. Thorough knowledge of LTL Industry, DOT Rules and Regulations, OSHA Laws, Hazardous Materials Regulations, NMFC and Tariff Rules, and company policies and procedures, preferred. Strong Organizational / Communication/ and Logistical skills with solid problem‑solving abilities. Knowledge of all aspects of ensuring quality freight handling techniques preferred. Computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Previous Management experience in the LTL industry is STRONGLY preferred.
