Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN)

This role provides hands-on clinical support in specialty clinic settings, focusing on rooming patients, assisting providers, and maintaining a clean, efficient, and patient-centered environment. The position supports either an ENT or Urology clinic, working closely with providers and clinic staff to ensure a smooth patient flow and a positive experience for up to 25 patients per day.

Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and accurately, including taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during patient visits by preparing necessary supplies, supporting examinations, and following clinical instructions in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and fully stocked before and after each patient visit.
• Clean and maintain medical equipment in accordance with clinic protocols to ensure safety, functionality, and infection control standards.
• Use electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient information, update charts, and support accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Answer phones as needed, providing courteous and professional communication with patients and clinic staff, and assisting with scheduling or routing calls appropriately.
• Support daily clinic flow by coordinating patient movement through the clinic, helping to manage up to 25 patients per day.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care and a smooth clinic operation.
• Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including those related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple patients, tasks, and priorities throughout the day.

Essential Skills

• Experience in rooming patients, including obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for examinations.
• Medical Assistant Diploma from a program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or completion of a state-approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.

Work Environment

This position supports either an ENT or Urology clinic with one opening in each specialty. Primary scheduling is at a clinic in St. Louis Park, with additional travel to either Maple Grove or Burnsville based on preference and scheduling needs. The role follows a MondayFriday schedule with daytime hours. ENT clinic hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at locations in St. Louis Park, Burnsville, and Maple Grove. Urology clinic hours generally range from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., depending on location, with sites in St. Louis Park, Maple Grove, and Burnsville. The environment is a professional outpatient clinic setting that relies on electronic health record systems and standard medical equipment for examinations and treatments. The role typically involves 23 days per week at one or more clinic locations, working closely with providers and clinic staff in a clean, organized, and patient-focused environment, with appropriate clinical attire required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
