Sr. HVAC Technician

Heating and cooling only work when systems are designed, built, and proven in the field. This role keeps that promise: you diagnose complex HVAC equipment, close the gap between design intent and real performance, and raise the standard for every unit that leaves the floor. The people who depend on reliable climate control feel the difference when you get it right.

• Restore failed or underperforming heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems to specified capacity, efficiency, and safety within agreed response times.
• Complete commissioning and start-up so new and modified equipment meets design airflow, temperature, pressure, and control setpoints on first acceptance.
• Cut repeat callbacks by finding root cause—not symptoms—and documenting the fix so the same failure does not return.
• Execute preventive maintenance plans that hold uptime and energy performance to target across assigned equipment.
• Translate field findings into clear recommendations that improve product design, installation practice, and service procedures.
• Lead complex jobs safely, including refrigerant handling, electrical troubleshooting, and coordination with installers and controls specialists.
• Train junior technicians so they can diagnose common faults independently within their first season.

You work with design, production, and field service on equipment from concept through installed performance. Tools include standard HVAC instruments, manufacturer diagnostics, and service documentation. You report to the service or technical lead, set daily priorities with operations, and have authority to stop unsafe work. Parts, test equipment, and technical support are provided for jobs in scope.

• Proven record diagnosing and repairing commercial or light-industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems to a measurable performance standard.
• Current credentials required for refrigerant handling and electrical work in the jurisdictions you will serve.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings and verify that installed systems match them.
• Hands-on experience with airflow, hydronic, and refrigeration measurements, plus clear written service reports.
• Demonstrated safe work on live equipment, including lockout, pressure systems, and working at height when required.
• Experience guiding less experienced technicians on diagnosis and safe procedure.
