Purchasing Support Specialist

Overview Galco is looking for a Purchasing Support Specialist to join our amazing team. In this role, you will have an opportunity to interact with various functional Galco team members. Galco is a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for detail and the ability to work independently. Role & Responsibilities Process and follow up on rush orders and drop-shipments Collaborate with other team members on expedite and past-due order follow-up Input delivery communication from suppliers into ERP system Process order acknowledgements and follow-up on unacknowledged purchase orders Execute expense (office supplies, etc.) purchases based on approval policies Supplier outreach based on various reports to ensure best possible service to our customers Assist in ensuring integrity of PO, supplier and sourcing information in ERP system Purchasing special project support Any other tasks as assigned by Purchasing Supervisor or Director of Procurement Education & Experience Requirements Some college course work is preferred. Experience working in an office setting required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and good problem-solving skills are required. Solid Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge required.
