The Sterile Processing Department within the health care facility is responsible for the delivery of medical surgical instruments that have been properly processed by decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and issued for patient use. The Certified Sterile Processing Technician has chosen and accomplished certification in Sterile Processing.

Qualifications

Ability to perform physical and visual aspects of the job. Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy and have good mathematical skills. Basic medical terminology and knowledge of the human body. Dependable, honest, and shows integrity in all aspects of the job. General computer knowledge. Must be certified as a sterile processing technician. Pleasant professional demeanor when dealing with customers and coworkers. Requires the ability to speak with others with pride, voice control, and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice.
