Key Responsibilities
Tariff and Trade Compliance Specialist Detroit, MI
Key Responsibilities
- Classifyproducts using HTSUS (US), HS (Canada), and HTS/TIGIE (Mexico) .
- Support USMCA documentationand verify rules of origin.
- Coordinatecross-border logistics with freight forwarders, carriers, and customsbrokers.
- Prepare/reviewimport & export documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB,USMCA Certificate).
- Ensurecompliance with CBP, CBSA, and Mexican Customs (SAT) regulations.
- Trackshipments and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Assistin duty calculations and basic landed-cost analysis.
- Maintaintariff, logistics, and compliance records for audits.
- Bachelor'sdegree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
- Knowledgeof tariff classification, EXIM procedures, and North American customsprocesses.
- Familiaritywith cross-border trade (US-Mexico-Canada).
- Goodcommunication, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Experiencewith ERP systems and MS Excel.
