Quality Control Associate

Description Position: Quality Control Associate

Type: Full-time 4 day work week (32 hours per week)

Starting Wage: $21/hour

Purpose: To embody and share the brand, values, and vision of Melanzana. To inspect garments, with an eye towards quality, while upholding Melanzana’s standards, specifications and reputation as a high quality brand; and to help foster a caring and supportive culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect finished bundles in a timely manner (by end of day/week)
• Develop a high level of consistency for decision making on all bundles being produced
• Look for flaws in sewing and fabric that are not to company standards
• Communicate clearly with all sewers in a professional manner about quality issues
• Consistently apply established inspection guidelines to all garments
• Work collaboratively with production supervisors to discuss and production issues as they arise
• Fill out all tally sheets correctly, keeping track of every garment produced
• Keep track of all fix-its and communicate with sewers to get fix-its done by end of day/week.
• Barcode all inspected products; folding, hanging and beading products as needed
• Repairs: fill out repair forms, organize repairs by type, and re-inspect repairs once completed
• Assist with other projects such as shock cord cutting, fabric pre-inspection as needed.
