Lead Field Technician/Mechanic (Dallas, TX) - Austin Equipment Yard Austin Industries is a large, diversified construction company with over 7,000 employee‑owners, providing services across civil, commercial, and industrial construction through its operating companies: Austin Bridge & Road, Austin Commercial, and Austin Industrial. Austin Equipment Yard has an outstanding opportunity for a Lead Field Technician/Mechanic for heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. The technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various types of heavy construction equipment. Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates smoothly Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic equipment or hands‑on tests Repair or replace broken parts, such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components Maintain detailed service records for each piece of equipment for warranty, compliance, and tracking purposes Follow all safety policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications 3+ years of service and repair experience with heavy construction equipment Maintenance and preventive maintenance skills Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting abilities Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Strong commitment to jobsite safety Requirements High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification Valid driver’s license Must work outdoors in various weather conditions Must be able to work hours adjusted to meet project needs, including days, nights, and weekends Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship offered Benefits & Compensation Excellent benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, and a matching 401(k) plan.
