About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Handbag Design and Merchandising. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the creative, strategic, and commercial direction of the handbag division, with a focus on design strategy, merchandising, and line execution across multiple brands. This role involves driving category elevation and growth, particularly in licensed and private-label programs, and identifying new markets and licensing opportunities. The Vice President will also provide senior leadership to the design and merchandising team and collaborate closely with various internal departments. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in handbag and accessories design and merchandising, with a strong technical background in construction, materials, and costing. Experience in private-label, licensing, or vertically integrated environments is essential, as is a proven track record of strong commercial acumen. The role may require periodic domestic travel for market appointments, vendor meetings, and innovation research. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for the industry and a keen eye for market trends and consumer preferences.
