Introduction
This advanced emergency and specialty hospital in Phoenix, Arizona is seeking a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join its experienced clinical team. Providing secondary and tertiary referral care across the Phoenix metropolitan area, the hospital offers a high-level emergency caseload supported by board-certified specialists, experienced technicians and advanced diagnostic capabilities. The position is suited to an Emergency Veterinarian with at least one year of emergency practice experience who enjoys collaborative management of complex cases.

Working Hours / Rota
The position follows a rotating schedule of both day and overnight shifts, providing coverage across the hospital's emergency service. Veterinarians work alongside experienced clinical and support teams throughout the rotation, with collaboration across the hospital's specialty services for patients requiring advanced or multidisciplinary care.

Role Description and Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinarian, you'll assess and manage urgent and critically ill patients, performing comprehensive examinations, diagnostic work-ups, medical treatment and surgery where appropriate. You'll oversee cases from intake through hospitalisation and discharge, participate in clinical rounds and work closely with specialists, technicians and support staff to maintain high standards of patient care. The role also involves clear communication with pet owners, accurate medical records, appropriate prescribing and collaboration with hospital leadership around clinical protocols and day-to-day patient flow.

Practice Details
The hospital is an 11,500-square-foot emergency and multi-specialty referral facility equipped for advanced secondary and tertiary care. Its clinical resources include digital radiography, CT, ultrasound, intensive and oxygen units, advanced laboratory diagnostics and an in-house pharmacy. Emergency veterinarians work alongside a team of board-certified specialists and experienced veterinary professionals, providing access to multidisciplinary support for complex cases within a collaborative referral environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
  • Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
  • Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
