Security Event Staff - Watkins Glen

Located within five hours (300 miles) of 25 percent of the U.S. population,  Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, three-times voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of  USA Today . The Glen hosts a diverse portfolio of premier sports car, open wheel and stock car races throughout the year.

This is an event position: (Hours vary during events).

Duration of Position: April - November

Compensation for this position starts at $19.00 per hour but may vary depending on past experience, education, and skills.

Qualifications:

• Exceptional Interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliability and punctuality. 
• Ability to independently resolve problems as they arise
• Ability to de-escalate and react appropriately to stressful circumstances
• Ability to work alone and as a team member.

Responsibilities:

• Provide event specific information to guests
• Control access into hospitality areas, garages, paddocks and other areas requiring specific credentials
• Assist with ingress/egress traffic control and parking management
• Stay attentive and report any suspicious activity observed
• Utilize provided communication equipment (two-way radios)
• Respond to incidents and document as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirement:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to obtain a NYS Security Guard license required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Emergency Services experience preferred
• Reliable transportation to and from the track location
