Machinist – DIRECT HIRE

Newton, NC

2nd shift (2:00pm-10:00pm), Monday-Friday

$26.00-$30.00 per hour based on experience

Job Overview

We’re hiring an experienced Machinist to build, repair, and maintain precision tooling that keeps production running efficiently. This is a hands-on role working with both manual and CNC equipment in a clean, team oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and repair dies, tooling, fixtures, and components
• Operate manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders) and CNC equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Troubleshoot tooling issues to reduce downtime
• Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and equipment
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
• Weld (MIG/TIG) as needed for tooling repair
• Test, adjust, and ensure tooling meets quality standards
• Work closely with production and engineering teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manual or machining experience
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience operating mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines
• Ability to work to tight tolerances
• Experience with precision measuring tools
• MIG and TIG welding experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conover, NC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Conover,NC.
