Automation TechnicianHowmet Aerospace is currently looking for an Automation Technician to join our Howmet Casting plant in Wichita Falls, Texas. Uses power tools, hand tools, and testing instruments. Follows manuals, schematic diagrams, and blue prints.Review related manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performedUnderstanding of electronic application, electrical circuits, mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming of the various controllers and robots.Documentation of the automation processes throughout the life cycle of the process.Participate in any quality audits pertaining to Automation.Job Responsibilities:Programs robot to perform specified tasks, applying knowledge of programming language using teach pendants, keyboards, control panels, or robot controllers.Modifies programs to refine movement of robot using the various controllers.Observes robots and related equipment to detect malfunctions, and repairs or replaces defective parts using hand tools and power tools.Observes and maintains quality of the automation processes.Initiates and maintains documentation throughout the development and qualification process.Other duties as required.Physical Demands:Require (at times) work to be performed in a hot environment.Work requires moderate physical effort (lift 35 lbs).Work requires physical effort such as lifting, bending, standing, sitting, handling, reaching with hands and arms.Must pass Jaeger I eye exam.Equipment Used:Common hand tools.PLC Software, Trouble shooting devices and meters.Motoman robot controllers and teach pendants.Personal Computers.Work Environment:Requires wearing safety glasses, ear plugs and Metatarsal Guard shoes.Works in air conditioned area with time in hot areas of the plant.Slight exposure to chemicals, fumes, oil, dust, noise and heat or cold.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalency required.This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
