We're searching for a Learning and Development Lead.Who you areYou're a learning and development leader and practitioner who thinks like a business partner and a product owner. You're energized by understanding how Aurora actually works, where the business is headed, what capabilities it will need to get there, and how people leaders enable mission success. You know that great learning isn't about building more programs. It's about architecting the right few things, grounded in business needs, that stick. Leadership and manager development is a key part of your craft and this role: you're genuinely curious about what makes management work at Aurora, what enables a manager to multiply their team's impact, and you're driven to build that capability at every level of the organization. You're also curious about how AI is reshaping learning, and you want to be the one bringing that thinking into Aurora's People Team.You’ll be part of People Experience team leadership, helping build People Experience strategy, align outcomes, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support the professional and career development of our team members. Connecting is part of this role, collaborating closely with People Experience and broader People Team colleagues as well as partners and stakeholders.In this role you willOwn learning and development strategy and portfolio, tightly aligned to business priorities and future capability needsBuild and continually evolve Aurora's leadership and manager development approach and offerings, from onboarding through advanced skill-buildingPartner with People Business Partners, Talent Management, and Workforce Planning to design scalable tools (guides, toolkits, cohort programs)Manage programs end-to-end: needs assessment, design, delivery, evaluationEnsure Aurora’s compliance training is current and trackedApply product management discipline—roadmaps, prioritization, stakeholder buy-inEvaluate and implement AI-driven learning tools; support the org's broader AI adoptionMaintain resourcing and course budget and vendor relationshipsTrack metrics and report learning impact to senior leadershipDesirable Qualifications10+ years in L&D, OD, or related HR discipline, including manager development and portfolio ownershipProven partnership with business leaders to build learning solutions grounded in real needsProduct management experience (roadmapping, prioritization, buy-in)Strong instructional design skills, grounded in adult learning principlesExperience using data to evaluate impact and shape strategyExcellent facilitation and executive communication skillsVendor and budget management experienceBias toward practical impact over comprehensive coverageComfortable influencing without formal authorityFor roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $162,000 - $259,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
