Advanced Database Engineer

Responsibilities Design, implement, manage and maintain databases including Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Provide support to application DBA tasks such as database cloning, patching, migration, performance tuning, cost optimization, and database migration. Maintain and enhance the performance of existing database programs. Assist database development and Product Development teams in designing new database programs that meet the organization\'s needs. Identify bottlenecks and resolve them by tuning queries, implementing indexing strategies, and adjusting resource allocation. Regularly update and patch database software, manage upgrades, and ensure high availability. Implement access controls (such as RBAC), encryption, and ensure the database meets regulatory standards like HIPAA or GDPR. Establish robust data backups and disaster recovery protocols to prevent data loss. Design database solutions such as Database as a Service to deploy database platforms. Automate database tasks (e.g., database file growth monitoring, serverless functions to turn off non-prod clusters). Provide on-call support for databases. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of related experience. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Preferred Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
