VP, LatAm Local Markets Strategist

Salary: $155,000 - 225,000 per year Requirements:

• Clear, effective written and spoken communication skills
• Advanced quantitative and analytical abilities, with a methodical approach to problem-solving
• Experience working with large datasets, dashboards, and data scraping
• Advanced programming and econometric skills, including Python and R, plus proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience in Latin American fixed income markets
• Spanish or Portuguese proficiency is valued
• Motivation and eagerness to deepen knowledge of Latin American markets
• Ability to demonstrate relevant skills in areas such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and role-specific technical expertise
• For an individual contributor, subject-matter expertise and the ability to guide technical direction, lead collaborative assignments, coach specialists, and inform strategic decisions
• Barclays Vice President-level capabilities, including stakeholder advice, risk management, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, and relationship-building

• Drive key perspectives on Latin American rates and foreign exchange markets, and work with the team to develop top-down emerging markets strategy
• Analyze market, sector, corporate, and economic data to develop investment theses and produce high-quality research
• Create research ranging from company or sector notes to long-term thematic reports
• Present research and market views to clients through meetings, virtual interactions, events, and written communications
• Engage with Markets, Client Strategy, and other stakeholders to promote research internally and to clients, prioritizing relevant and valuable client relationships
• Provide internal clients with insights to help them navigate financial markets and risks
• Work with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure research is produced and distributed compliantly
• Contribute to strategy, recommend changes, manage resources and policies, drive continuous improvement, and escalate policy or procedure breaches
• Advise senior stakeholders on functional and cross-functional matters, while managing risk and strengthening controls
• Collaborate across business areas, apply research and analytical judgment to develop solutions, and build trusted stakeholder partnerships
