About the Role

\n

\n

We are looking for a deeply experienced Medical Malpractice insurance professional to build and lead Corgi's Medical Malpractice underwriting capabilities.

\n

\n

This person will bring deep knowledge of medical professional liability, healthcare risks, claims dynamics, pricing, distribution, and portfolio management. You will help define our appetite, develop underwriting standards, evaluate risks, and build the infrastructure required to operate a modern Medical Malpractice business.

\n

\n

This is an opportunity to take expertise developed over years in the traditional insurance industry and apply it to a new insurance platform being built from the ground up.

What You’ll Work On

\n

\n

\n
• Own underwriting strategy for Medical Malpractice.
\n
• Develop underwriting guidelines, appetite, authority levels, and referral criteria.
\n
• Evaluate individual healthcare risks and make complex underwriting decisions.
\n
• Develop pricing and risk-selection frameworks in partnership with actuarial and analytics teams.
\n
• Analyze claims trends, loss drivers, exposure characteristics, and portfolio performance.
\n
• Help determine appropriate coverage structures, limits, deductibles, and terms.
\n
• Develop processes for underwriting and managing healthcare accounts at scale.
\n
• Work with brokers, agents, distribution partners, reinsurers, and insureds.
\n
• Partner with product, actuarial, legal, and technology teams to build the underlying insurance product.
\n
• Help build the Medical Malpractice underwriting organization over time.
\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n

\n
• 8+ years of experience in Medical Malpractice / Medical Professional Liability.
\n
• Deep understanding of healthcare professional liability risks and claims.
\n
• Strong technical underwriting judgment.
\n
• Experience underwriting complex or sophisticated healthcare accounts.
\n
• Ability to understand pricing, loss trends, and portfolio economics.
\n
• Strong relationships with brokers, agents, or other healthcare insurance distribution partners.
\n
• Experience at a major carrier, specialty insurer, or sophisticated InsurTech.
\n

• Experience underwriting hospitals, physician groups, healthcare systems, or other complex healthcare organizations.

• Experience with both underwriting and distribution.

• Experience building or launching a new book of business.
