About the Position

Job Title: RN - Newborn Nursery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Newborn Nursery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Certifications: NRP, BLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. BLS NRP Description: This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Newborn Nursery. The shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No call is required. The unit has 10 beds, 1 procedure room, 2 operating rooms, and 4 triage bays. The staff includes 9 members, with 6 on day shift and 2 on night shift, plus a contract nurse and an orientee. Patient ratios are 1:3, with a 1:1 ratio for patients on vapotherm. Equipment used includes panda warmers, cribs, all NRP equipment, and hospital-grade breast pumps. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech/CPN. Permanent positions are available for night shifts. Typical procedures performed on the unit include Apgar assessments, Ballard assessments, medication administration, and vapotherm setups. Candidates should possess a fast-paced work ethic, be hardworking, capable of multi-tasking, and foster good teamwork and a positive attitude. Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs are required. The unit hosts an annual summer picnic for all related teams, fostering team spirit and collaboration. New equipment and technology are continuously being introduced to enhance the work environment.
