Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairs on injection and compression molding equipment, secondary and conveyance equipment, including assemblers, inserters, printers, labelers, robots, etc. The Maintenance Technician is also able to perform setups, changeovers, adjustments, preventative maintenance, repair and operations of various types of equipment to include assembly, subassembly, printing, and/or packaging machines. The company scope includes injection and compression molding operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components serving FDA regulated markets. This is a high-speed and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).Responsibilities Level II:Must be able to proficiently operate molding machines, conveyance equipment, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to affect repairsTroubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipmentTroubleshoot and diagnose pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical malfunctions on a variety of equipmentConsult OEM manuals to identify proper machine specific procedures, parts identification, pm schedules and frequency, troubleshooting, etc.Interact with OEM vendors to identify parts, obtain quotes, and submits requisitions to acquire repair and replacement partsPerform adjustments and setups on a variety of equipment in support of production and in accordance with company developed SWIS documents and all safety proceduresRepair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principlesMaintain a clean and safe work area and report / correct all unsafe working conditionsRead, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection toolsPerform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipmentCheck and maintain quality of product being produced by identifying acceptable and non-acceptable product in accordance with Quality policies and proceduresActively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvementAnswer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root causeFollow all 5S guidelinesStrictly adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out policyUpload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacementRepair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc.Calibrate and adjust robot pick and place locations if neededConduct TPM activities as requiredInput Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (EAM)Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issuesPerform weekly, monthly and as required preventive maintenance (PM)Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issuesSuggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environmentComply with all company policiesCollaborate with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.Restore damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsMinimizes down time by coordinating repairs with the Production Scheduler.Maintains good communications with Production and Maintenance DepartmentsMaintains ongoing list of projects with critical path timeline items with statuses and estimated completion datesEnsures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashionTechnical and advanced troubleshooting resource for Level I TechniciansIn-depth working knowledge of common controls architecture including Keyence and SACMI Vision, PLC, HMI, Drive Controllers and Communication softwareAble to restore operating systems of common controls architecture, including Vision, Communication, PLC, HMI, and Drive Controller softwareAssist in developing machine and work cell reliability projects, conducts machine and equipment audits, compiles associated parts and task listsConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.Assists other maintenance personnel as neededOther duties as assignedRequirements:Must be accurate and trustworthy with a positive attitude that embraces change and continuous improvement in a fast paced and dynamic environment.Technical degree preferred or equivalent technical experience (5+ years) in an industrial manufacturing environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent personal leadership and organizational skills.Thorough understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance required.Proficient computer skills to include MS Office and Microsoft Outlook.Working knowledge of CMMS.Good mathematical and analytical skills.Ability to read schematics.Physical Requirements:Repetitive bending from the upright position to approximately a 45 degree angle.Ability to maneuver in various positions including kneeling, sitting, laying down, and well as working at heights reaching 60 feet.Pulling or pushing a hand jack with product weighing up to 1200 pounds.Ability to transport heavy equipment and parts to various locations within the facility.Ability to operate and manipulate heavy equipment when necessary.Ability to lift 50 pounds.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed;
