Chief of Colorectal Surgery, Peconic Bay Medical Center - Northwell Health

" Northwell Health is seeking a full-time Chief of Colorectal Surgery at Peconic Bay Medical Center. Previous leadership experience is preferred. This is an exceptional opportunity to establish and lead a Colorectal Surgery program serving Long Island's North Fork community. The qualified candidate will oversee a collaborative environment with experienced surgical colleagues and advanced practice providers. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Provide leadership and oversight for the development and clinical direction of the Colorectal Surgery program Maintain an active clinical practice, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques Build referral relationships with primary care and gastroenterology colleagues across the North Fork region Lead initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development Advance departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and service line expansion Partner with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement Candidate Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution Board Certification in General Surgery required Extensive experience and specialization in colorectal surgery Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York Demonstrated leadership experience within an academic or clinically integrated health system environment A proven track record of clinical excellence, physician engagement, and program growth Experience with laparoscopic and/or robotic colorectal surgery preferred About Peconic Bay Medical Center Peconic Bay Medical Center is a 125-bed acute care hospital located in Riverhead, NY, serving the North Fork and surrounding communities of eastern Long Island.
