Principal Specialist, Security - El Segundo, CA

Position Overview Contractor SAP Security Officer (CSSO) – Special Programs. Responsible for developing, administering, and maintaining a comprehensive security program in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Must be a self‑starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a professional image. Responsibilities Understand and implement DoD Manual 5205.07, 32 CFR Part 117, NISPOM, ICDs, and related guidance. Provide security guidance regarding program operations. Develop, obtain approval for, and implement security policies, procedures, and documentation such as SOPs, OPSEC plans, and CONOPs. Create, update, and administer security education, training, and awareness including program indoctrinations and debriefings. Conduct self‑inspections and recommend or implement corrective actions. Prepare for and participate in government inspections and implement corrective actions. Perform program administrative work: personnel processing, visitor control, conduct program‑related investigations, TS accountability, dispatch and receipt of program documents/material, and resolve related security issues. Maintain relationships with internal and external customers, peers, and senior management across multiple program sites and business units. Assist in presentation preparation for program status and reviews (internal and external). Ensure compliance with applicable government and company regulations. Manage special access program facility administration: physical security and construction requirements for SAPFs and SCIFs, submit pre‑construction and accreditation packages including FFCs and Tempest assessments. Collaborate across multiple organization levels (Individual Contributors to Senior Executives). Work extended hours in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Willingness to travel on company business. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or 3 years if holding an advanced degree; university degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge and experience with DoD security manuals (5205.07, 32CFR117), NISPOM, and ICDs. Experience in special program environments with understanding of NISPOM and DoD volumes. Security‑related certifications and training courses. Experience with SIMS, DISS, and JADE databases. Working knowledge of the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to obtain and maintain all required access for the programs. Excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and computer skills. Professional image. U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable DoD Top Secret security clearance required on day1.
