Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our surgical team. The RNFA will assist surgeons in the operating room, playing an essential role in patient care during various surgical procedures.

Schedule

• Day Shift: 4 x 10s, Monday - Friday
• Options: 0630 - 1500 or 0830 - 1700
• No set off day
• One night of call per week
• One weekend of call per month

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by providing necessary support to the surgical team.
• Scrub and circulate during orthopedic, gynecological, and general surgeries.
• Ensure a sterile environment and maintain safety protocols in the operating room.
• Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
• Participate in annual reviews and continuous education to enhance skills and knowledge in surgical practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program: Required
• Certification of completion of an approved RNFA course: Required
• Minimum of three years of scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility: Required
• Annual surgeon review: Required

Licenses/Certifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Required
• Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR): Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS OR HS-PALS OR RQIPALS) certification: Preferred
• Current Professional Liability Insurance: Required
