Registered Nurse Emergency Department

Job Description Summary Part‑time and full‑time positions available. Responsibilities Assessment: Performs Emergency Room age‑specific triage assessment, obtains a complete nursing admission assessment, performs accurate ongoing systems assessment, responds to diagnostic data, and assesses educational and psychosocial needs. Planning: Implements plan of care upon completion of assessment and establishes priorities for patient care. Implementation: Safely administers and documents IV therapy, medications, oxygen therapy, feedings, urinary catheter insertion, wound and skin care; uses unit equipment correctly; provides instructions; follows standard precautions; handles restraints; performs dressing changes; manages essential tasks such as transfer summary; ensures proper labeling of specimens. Evaluation: Documents patient responses, treatment outcomes, progress toward goals, and discharge planning needs; reports abnormal findings; evaluates hemodynamic response and mechanical ventilation. Professional & Staff Development: Completes mandatory hospital/unit in‑services annually, documents competency, presents in‑services and patient‑care conferences, attends staff meetings, functions as Charge Nurse and preceptor, and participates in unit‑based PI. Leadership: Serves as Charge Nurse, triages and assigns beds, attends Charge Nurse course, and oversees patient flow. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification: Current RN license in the State of Florida. Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS required; PALS or ENPC within 3 months of hire. Education: None required. Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience (Level II).
