Position: (PRN) Substance Abuse Counselor Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 7 days a week. Let us know what days you are available to pick up shifts. Ideal candidates can work 1–2 weekdays and at least 1 weekend day. No evening shifts available. Pay: $33/hr and up. Hourly pay is based on education, certification, and years of certified experience. Key duties include: Develop and provide daily group therapy to assigned patients following the substance-abuse and co-occurring program curriculum. Assist in ensuring group attendance and compliance through engaging and meaningful content. Use therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques to assist patients in achieving all treatment goals and objectives. Assess patients for substance use disorders, risk to self or others, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Provide support for aftercare planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate sufficient comprehension of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Identify areas for improvement, study data, and develop and implement plans for improvement and outcomes. Additional Tasks Maintain positive relationships with all staff. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews. Maintain healthy boundaries with patients and staff. Ask for and accept feedback from supervisors. Provide a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients. Communicate significant patient developments to supervisors. Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to organizational success. Pursue professional development through education and training programs. Contribute positively to the morale of other staff members. Complete all required documentation as needed, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, state regulations, Joint Commission standards and Medical Needs Criteria. Documentations include Comprehensive Problem List, Integrated Master Treatment Plan and Updates, Group Therapy Session Notes, Discharge Summary, and other duties as assigned. Requirements Education Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health field preferred. High School Diploma required. Experience Minimum one (1) year of work experience in behavioral health field preferred. Licensure/Certification Desired State SUD certification required if education is equivalent to High School or Bachelor’s level: CADC I, II, or III QMHA or QMHP and willing to obtain a CADC CPR-AED and First Aid certification required. Knowledge and Training Required Proficiency in communication & written skills. Knowledge of state & federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws. Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards. Understanding of addiction placement, continuing care, and discharge criteria, including American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.
