Payroll System Administration Specialist

Payroll Specialist The Payroll Specialist processes bi-weekly payrolls and related responsibilities under the supervision of the Manager, Accounting. Duties and Responsibilities: Processes payroll information (e.g., hourly time sheets, withholding information, benefits, garnishment calculations) to provide input to the check generation system. Interfaces from Kronos to Lawson. Researches discrepancies in payroll information and documentation (e.g., W-4 forms, time sheets) to ensure accuracy before processing. Reconciles reports such as medical insurance payments and 401(K) deductions to verify accuracy. Responds to payroll-related written and verbal inquiries (e.g., garnishments, payroll processes). Prepares reports, filings, correspondence, and other written materials (e.g., payroll reports, W-2s, 941 forms) to comply with state and federal requirements. Performs all other payroll-related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred. Experience and knowledge in electronic time-and-attendance software preferred. Experience with Kronos and Lawson preferred. Training and education in payroll and accounting curriculum required. Knowledge of federal and state payroll/tax regulations preferred. Proficiency in Excel preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Interpersonal skills and ability to work with various levels (managers, staff, etc.) preferred. Ability to handle confidential material and complex information. Strong work ethic required. Ability to work well under pressure to meet internal and external deadlines preferred.
