Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Type: Days Position Overview Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated RN to join our partner's PACU team at a community hospital in Los Alamos, NM. This role is ideal for a compassionate nurse committed to providing direct patient care using the nursing process in a supportive, team-oriented environment.


The successful candidate will perform and document plan of care interventions, including medication administration and clinical treatments, while monitoring and communicating patient conditions. This is a pivotal role that requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and a focus on the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.


Qualifications Required: • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing. • Current NM RN license or appropriate RN compact licensure. • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, current upon hire. • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification to be obtained within six months of hire. • Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.


Preferred: • Experience in a post-anesthesia care or critical care setting.


Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Excellence • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. • Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. • Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. • Assist patients with activities of daily living and work as an advocate for their physical and emotional well-being.


Collaboration & Education • Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. • Evaluate learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide appropriate education.
