What this job involves:As an Operating Engineer at JLL, you will be a technical specialist responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and repair of critical facility equipment and systems. This role requires you to demonstrate expertise in one specialized craft area while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. You will ensure all building systems operate at optimal performance levels while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards that support JLL's commitment to exceptional facility management and client service.What your day-to-day will look like:Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to maintain facility standardsExecute preventative maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC systems and associated equipment performanceRecord equipment readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of all facility systemsReview monthly client service request summaries to identify and resolve recurrent operational problemsMonitor and evaluate vendor and supplier performance regarding quality standards and competitive pricingVerify accuracy of deliveries including count, pricing, and product descriptionsConduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure operational readinessRequired Qualifications:Technical expertise in at least one craft area: Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant OperationsMulti-skilled capabilities across various building systems and equipment typesExperience with facility services, preventative maintenance, and inventory control processesKnowledge of safety protocols for hazardous material storage, usage, and disposalAbility to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systemsUnderstanding of quality control processes and vendor managementCapability to work independently and complete daily/weekly work assignments effectivelyPreferred Qualifications:Certification or formal training in building systems maintenance and operationsExperience with building automation systems and control technologiesBackground in contractor oversight and maintenance work quality monitoringKnowledge of industry standards and building codes for facility operationsExperience with purchasing processes and cost management for maintenance operationsThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
