Junior Attorney

Description Are you a recent law school graduate looking to work with an experienced attorney and support staff who will give you opportunities to further your legal career? If so, we are looking for you! Our firm is hiring an associate attorney who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with representing clients.
The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities • Represent spouses, parents, and other individuals as their lawyer of record in family court actions
• Represent the best interests of children in contested custody matters as a Guardian ad Litem
• Conduct initial consultations with clients, evaluate the merits of their case, and provide sound advice on their best path forward
• Draft pleadings, letters, and other court documents
• Advocate for clients in hearings and mediations
• Answer client questions and provide advice promptly
• Maintain thorough records through the firm's case management system to ensure everyone in the firm has access to the most up-to-date information regarding the case Qualifications • South Carolina Bar License or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
• Completion of South Carolina Rule 403 trial observation requirements or ability to complete requirements within 6 months of hire
• Excellent knowledge of basic office programs, computer software, and online applications, and willingness to learn project and case management software
