Position Description Summary/Purpose: Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Dean of Students, the Student Support Coordinator is a full‑time position responsible for managing the daily operations of the Ann B. Clark Co‑op, providing oversight for case management services and leading student development with interns. This role includes supporting the university’s Laptop Loaner Program, Transitional Housing Assistance, Student Emergency Relief Fund, and other student affairs initiatives. The position integrates resource management with direct student support, creating a seamless approach to addressing student needs and promoting academic, personal, and professional success. This position supports retention initiatives by creating a one‑stop concept for student support. Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the Co‑op, ensuring students, faculty, and staff receive high-quality support. Manage inventory, including placing food and supply orders, stocking items, and adhering to Supporting Wellness at Pantries (SWAP) guidelines. Cultivate relationships with partners such as Connecticut Foodshare, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, and Highland Park Market to secure resources and donations Plan and execute events such as the annual Turkey Drive and other outreach initiatives. Supervise and mentor Co‑op staff, including work‑study students and interns, to ensure efficient and customer‑focused operations. Provide one‑on‑one case management to assist students with academic, financial, housing, and personal challenges. Administer the Laptop Loaner Program, ensuring equitable distribution and accurate tracking of equipment. Oversee Transitional Housing Assistance for students experiencing housing insecurity, including coordination with local housing partners Manage the Student Emergency Relief Fund by evaluating applications and ensuring timely distribution of aid. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community organizations to connect students to internal and external resources. Develop and deliver workshops or programs focused on topics such as financial literacy, housing stability, and accessing campus resources. Create innovative strategies to enhance awareness and accessibility of Co‑op and Case Management services. Maintain accurate records for case management, Co‑op usage, and program outcomes, providing regular reports to the Assistant Dean. Serve as a liaison between students and other university departments to resolve barriers to success. Represent the Co‑op and student support at campus and community events, promoting services and fostering partnerships. Strengthen collaboration with local organizations to expand the range of resources available to students. Actively engage in professional development to stay informed of best practices in student support services and resource management. Other Functions: Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits. Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort. Knowledge, Ability and Skill: Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. Strong organizational and operational management skills, with experience supervising staff or volunteers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations. Proven ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, virtual engagement platforms and data management systems. Knowledge of community resources, housing assistance, and student support programs. Minimum Required Qualifications: Masters degree in social work, counseling, higher education, or a related field (Bachelor's required, Master’s preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience in case management, student affairs, or related roles within higher education or nonprofit sectors. Experience with food pantry operations, SWAP guidelines, or non-profit resource programs (preferred). Familiarity with case management software or student information systems (preferred). Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (preferred).
