Adjunct Faculty: Political Science

The Political Science Department is looking to hire an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Political Science courses in the Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning Division. Courses may include: Government/Politics in US Intro to Political Theory State/Local Politics Intro to Comparative Politics Intro to International Relations Courses may be offered at any of the BHCC campuses, satellite campuses, partner sites, or instructional sites, including but not limited to Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School. Requirements Master's degree or Ph.D. in Political Science or related field. Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies. Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities). Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. Must be available to teach at Chelsea, Malden High School, Freedom House, and Chelsea High School. We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses: Government/Politics in US Intro to Political Theory State/Local Politics Intro to Comparative Politics Intro to International Relations Preferred Requirements Community college teaching experience preferred. Our students come from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to succeed. While not required, the ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred. Additional Information Salary: $1,512 Per Credit Hour Effective Date: Fall 2026 semester; open until filled.
