Position Title: Inpatient General Adult Psychiatrist/Chemical Dependency/Detox Location: Harahan, LA River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children.

Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute, a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders.

Position Overview: Employment Type: Full-time Hospital Employed Schedule / Hours: Onsite, Monday–Friday Patient Volume: negotiable, 15-20 daily caseload Location: Harahan, LA Practice Setting: Inpatient ages 18 and older, all ages for weekend call Call requirements: 1 night a week, overnight telephonic call, 1:4 weekend call Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, and Therapists Key Responsibilities: Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.

Participate in daily treatment team meetings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care. Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines. Malpractice coverage, Paid time off, and CMEs offered. Monday - Friday work schedule Position duties include admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.
