Job Summary and Responsibilities As our RN, you will assume responsibility for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team and patient/family to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient, advancing modern nursing through compassionate care. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with a commitment to compassionate, high-quality patient care, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to apply the nursing process effectively within a supportive, mission-driven environment. Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making. Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient. Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching. We are offering relocation assistance up to $8,000 to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. .90 FTE-FT nights-7pm-7:30am Job Requirements Required Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement Active and unencumbered RN License in state of employment BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS from the American Heart Association NIHSS PALS One year recent RN experience Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly Preferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing Where You'll Work Our Med Surg unit takes patients from 30 days old until death. Our staff have the unique opportunity to serve our community by taking a wide range of ages, diagnosis, and cultural backgrounds. Sticking to ratios of 4-5 days and 5-6 nights, with a tech, the Med Surg unit partners with the ICU to ensure that patients with higher acuity are moved into the ICU to ensure Med Surg care for all patients. This is unique for our region, and we are very lucky to have this. We look for people that are team players, patient focused, always looking to provide higher levels of care, and adaptability. Including swing beds, we have a total of 15 patient rooms, all which can be double bunked, however we only do single rooms. Providing care through-out the region, St. Elizabeth Hospital provides cardiology, maternal, emergency, surgical, pediatrics, and acute care inpatient services in addition to the multitude of subspecialists in our specialty clinic. At 50 beds, St. Elizabeth is the region’s referral center serving a wide span of northeastern Colorado.
