The KI Religious School Educational Leadership Fellow Your launch into Jewish education leadership. Congregation Kehillath Israel (KI) is seeking a dynamic, passionate Education Leadership Fellow to help with the coordination of the Kehillath Israel Religious School (KIRS) and youth Shabbat programming. This two-year fellowship will focus on building the following skills: Educational Leadership (Curriculum, programs, evaluation) Operations (staff, budgeting, governence) Community Leadership (volunteers, communications, relationships) What You’ll Do Build and implement a rigorous and multifaceted religious school curriculum (grades K-6) Create and implement engaging youth and family programs for Shabbat and major and minor Jewish holidays Manage staff and community volunteers Manage program and departmental budgets Create a comprehensive engagement plan to reach new and returning families Who You Are You are a person who has been shaped by the positive Jewish experiences like camp, youth groups, synagogue, Hillel, JCC Maccabbi Games, Israel gap year/study abroad, Birthright, etc. and you want to ignite that spark in others. You have a passion for Jewish education and youth engagement and are looking to launch your career in this field through a combination of mentorship and practical on-the-job experience. What You'll Gain Work-based learning and on-the-job training that will provide the foundation for your future professional life Real leadership experience across every dimension of religious school life — curriculum, staffing, family engagement, and community programming Weekly mentorship with a variety of leaders including KI clergy, staff, and community leaders The skillsets needed to manage a growing school Opportunities to collaborate with KI staff and lay leaders on the planning and facilitation of holiday programming for youth and families (e.g. Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Purim, Lag BaOmer, etc.) Qualifications This is a fully in-person position. The Fellow must be on-site and available during religious school hours (3-5PM) on Mondays and Thursdays; other hours are flexible in consultation with supervisor 2-3 years professional experience required, with preference given to candidates who have experience in formal or informal educational settings or Jewish youth programs or camps Ability to read and write Hebrew Knowledge of Jewish customs and practices in Conservative Judaism Energy and enthusiasm to inspire young people Strong interpersonal skills to form meaningful connections with both adults and children Excellent written and oral communication skills The Details $40,000-$42,000 per year, commensurate with skills and experience This is a part-time (20-25 hours/week) position that reports to the Executive Director of KI This is a two-year position with the possibility of renewal About Congregation Kehillath Israel (KI) Congregation Kehillath Israel (KI), located in the heart of Brookline’s historic Coolidge Corner, is a warm and welcoming conservative synagogue with a 100+year history.
